Hi Tommy, just joined this group, so my comment on your question is late. Zazzle is a great place to sell t-shirts and anything else printed with your designs. I've been a member for about a year and have had decent success. You set your own percent of profit.

Oi mates!

I noticed Alvis mentioned something about the Tee-shirt biz. I'm looking to sell shirts as well... Unfortunately, I have it just about figured out except where I can send my American Apparel Shirts with my design to be printed. Any Ideas?

I really need to get moving as I just graduated and its been really hectic so far... Its a sad thing but as an artist we are more less collateral damage to the business world... I am thinking of maybe taking up some kind of business education to combine the creativity.


Anywho, Cool group and cool website. Glad I can join everyone, because we must stick together. Especially in finding away to cultivate business saavy artist in the future. This hardship has reigned over us for sometime and I believe we are suckered many times for our gifts.

As a motion designer you may make x amount of money but the company is only paying you ten percent for what it is sold for. I assume this holds true for many other things alike.

Brrrrr. I would agree that there are definite advantages to living in the south :) On the other hand in a couple of months it will be too hot here to be outside. Then I'll want to trade with you!

Leah, that's a great idea. For those of us living in the cold North, this activity is limited from May to September because of the very low temperatures. I live 40 miles west of Toronto on Lake Ontario and this winter has been very cold!

I participated in an outdoor painting event last weekend. Loved it! So many nice people stopped to chat about art. I think that might be a good marketing avenue for me. I'm hoping that commissions will transpire. Ha anyone had success selling or getting commissions from doing these types of events?
